2021 Veterans Day Discounts & Deals

This week marks the 67th anniversary when Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. Since then, Veterans Day has become an institution unto itself with celebrations and ceremonies across the United States every year. Along the way, companies have joined the action by offering deals and discounts on many things ranging from haircuts to travel to free meals at thousands of establishments.

That said, below are some tips for Veterans, Servicemembers, and families who plan on heading out to take advantage of the myriad of deals.

  • Before you go, make sure to review the official site’s information and rules. Many sites may still be listing promotions from previous years that are no longer valid.  The links below take you to the official site’s information page.
  • Bring proof of military service like your VA ID card, your state’s DL showing you are a Veteran, a photo of you in uniform, your DD Form 214, your military ID card, or be in uniform. Company requirements for proof of service may vary so be prepared.
  • Pay attention to dates of Veterans Day offers as some may be for days other than Veterans Day or may be occurring over several days.
  • Most meals are going to be for dine-in only; again, check the site’s information.
  • If you’re planning of eating out, make sure to tip your server(s). It’s just good practice.
  • Read the small print for promotions that state they’re for participating locations only. Just because a restaurant is part of a national chain does not mean they are automatically offering deals. Franchisees may choose not to participate or may do so even if corporate doesn’t.
  • When in doubt, give the place a call and ask the questions. You can also pass the information on to fellow Veterans via social media to give them a head’s up on what’s what in your area.

To all Veterans out there, thank you for your service; you deserve every deal you can get your hands on out here!
