VA Clinics Closed to Observe Independence Day, PTSD Resources

In observance of Independence Day, VA Outpatient Clinics will be closed on Monday, July 4th. Emergency departments will be open & available, if needed.

The VA’s PTSD Coach app can help you learn about and manage symptoms that often occur after trauma.

While a celebratory time, the days leading up to and following July 4th can be stressful for Veterans with PTSD and/or survivors of gun violence due to the setting off of fireworks. Below are some resources to check out for yourself or the Veteran(s) in your life:

If you find yourself in crisis, the Veterans Crisis Line is available 24/7 by calling 1-800-273-8255 & pressing 1 at the prompt. You can also text the VCL @ 838255 or go to to chat confidentially. You are not alone.

Make sure to take all necessary precautions in whatever activity you engage in during the holiday weekend. Stay safe & have a great 4th of July!
